"But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God." ~ Galatians 4:4-7

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 24 million children in America -- one out of every three -- live in biological father-absent homes. Nine in ten American parents agree this is a “crisis.”  Research has revealed links between fatherlessness and poverty, maternal and child health, incarceration, crime, teen pregnancy, child abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, education, and childhood obesity.  These relate to issues when a father is physically absent.  However, even more of us recognize the devastating effects of fathers that are emotionally absent or abusive.  It is clear that there is a need for a good earthly father.  However, this is a reflection of a much deeper reality that we are in need of a good heavenly Father who never fails us.  Without a connection to our heavenly Father, we are enslaved to things on earth that will never satisfy us.  This summer, we will explore the extent of the Father’s love for us.  We will encounter the offer of hope for slaves to become children of God - to dwell with Him - to enjoy the riches of relationship with Him both now and for all eternity.  Join us for Summer 2017 as we recognize our good Father and tell the world we were once SLAVES, but NOW we are SONS.

Radius Workshop

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” ~ Revelation 7:9-10

If you are a Christian, this is a glimpse of your eternal family - people from all tribes and peoples and languages.  This is what God has in mind for eternity.  He is a global God who will have a global family connected with Him forever.  However, this is not the reality of our world right now.  As we eagerly await Christ's 2nd coming, there are billions of people on the earth who have never heard of his 1st coming.  Who are these people that will one day be represented in eternity as worshipers of Jesus that, right now, have no idea who Christ is?  Who are the people that will introduce them to Jesus?

In this year's activity, we will put our attention on the people groups in the world who have the least access to the good news of Jesus Christ.  Sometimes referred to as the THUMB people, this includes Tribal people, Hindus, Unreligious (mostly Chinese), Muslims and Buddhists.  We will explore these different groups and look for some practical ways that we can start connecting with people that will be a part of our eternal family.
