Counselor in Training
Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is a leadership program designed for high school students, ages 16 to 20, to experience serving in an overnight summer camp setting. Through participating in this program, you can grow your relationship with the Lord, learn Christlike servitude, and develop your leadership skills. As a CIT, you will have the unique opportunity to observe a counselor as they lead their cabin over the course of a week-long camp session. During the week, you will be able to observe the counselors sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and live it out daily with the campers. Each day you will be given time to fellowship with other CITs, study scripture, and reflect on your experiences. As you serve, you can grow in your walk with Jesus Christ and learn what it means to be a Christian leader. We are thrilled to provide this opportunity to teens that can shape their walk with the Lord as we minister to our campers. Starting this year, 2024, we will be limiting the number of CITs for each week of Camp to 6. Those that have filled out applications prior to coming as a Camper will get spots first. We are also limiting the number of weeks to serve as a CIT to 2 weeks.
Starting Summer 2020, the mission of the CIT program is to be a hands-on leadership program that teaches high school students the fundamentals of being a Christian leader. In addition to helping with a cabin, CITs will have daily sessions designed to develop students’ leadership skills. As a result, we are asking that CITs pay a $50 enrollment fee that reserves their spot in the program and covers the cost of materials and meals. Please let us know if there are financial needs. We ask that if CITs plan to be a camper during the same summer, that their Camp experience is the week BEFORE they serve as a CIT.
